Why do my joints ache?

Lowered oestrogen

Oestrogen supports collagen formation. As oestrogen levels begin to drop, our skin and joints repair less well.

Cortisol imbalances

Stress and the associated raised levels cortisol inhibit the repair of joints and skin.

Loss of muscle mass

As we age lower testosterone combined with either insufficient exercise or the wrong  type of exercise, can result in  reduced muscle mass and subsequent injury and joint pain.

Consuming inflammatory foods

Some common foods can result in increased inflammation through out the body including the joints.

Low protein

The collagen needed for healthy joints is made from the protein you eat.
